CERN Accelerating science

CERN will be present at the Green Days of the Pollutec Fair held in Lyon, France, on 29th November 2016.

During the Green Days, CERN will attend alongside other European Intergovernmental Research Organisations (EIROs), including ESA (European Space Agency), ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility) and European XFEL (X-Ray Free Electron Laser Facility). The research laboratories are taking part in Pollutec under the umbrella organisation EIROforum, which is a network of eight set up to support European science in reaching its full potential.

These major European research organisations will showcase their innovations in the domain of energy and environment and risk management on the 29^th of November from 11.20 to 13.55 at the ‘Risks exhibition sector forum’ which is also in HALL 4 near GREEN DAYS.

During this session, visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the laboratories’ technologies and challenges in the areas of energy, environment and risk management; technologies which are all accessible to the industry thanks to knowledge and technology transfer.

The technologies are:

• Waste Management
• Radiation Detection
• Harmful Substance Detection
• Remote Robotic/Mechanic operations
• High Efficiency Solar Panels
• Aeration
• Cryogenics
• Water Management

The event will allow participants to discover these opportunities and interact directly with representatives from CERN, ESA, ESRF and European XFEL so as to initiate potential collaborations.
