High-Frequency Low Energy Compact RFQ
This project aims at studying the feasibility of an extremely compact source such that the source extraction system is integrated into the RFQ vacuum and RF envelope, in order to create a compact injector for the compact RFQ. It is considered a logical continuation of previous efforts developing the compact RFQ, which is used for medical and cultural heritage applications. The project will be funded for the requested amount of 65 kCHF for material and a TECH student. The suggestion of hiring a PJAS/DOCT/COAS/VISC if no suitable TECH was found should be pending separate approval by the KT Group since it might require more funding and lead to unfavourable IP conditions. Because of the strong Medical Applications component of the project, 25k will come from the MA budget and the remaining 40k from the KT Fund.
