Stephanie joined the CERN Knowledge Transfer Group in June 2019 as Legal Advisor in the IP Management & KT Policies section.
She has over seven year of experience in the field of intellectual property and information technology, and is a Brazilian‑qualified lawyer, registered with the Brazilian Bar Association since 2014.
Stephanie worked for almost six years in the Intellectual Property, IT & Communications Practice Group of the law firm Trench Rossi Watanabe, where she advised Brazilian and international companies in a wide range of issues. She had a particular focus on technology transfer agreements, trademark and copyright law, as well as data protection, media and internet law. During her Master in Munich, she also worked as a part time research assistant in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of the law firm Baker McKenzie, where she mainly handled technology transfer agreements, with especial focus on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Before joining CERN, she participated in the Pan-European Seal Professional Traineeship Programme at the EUIPO – European Intellectual Property Office, where she was assigned to the Boards of Appeal.
Stephanie holds a LL.M. in ‘Intellectual Property and Competition Law’ from MIPLC – Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (Germany), a specialization in ‘Intellectual Property and New Businesses’ from FGV – Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brazil), and a Bachelor of Laws from USP – University of São Paulo (Brazil).
