Margherita Marini

Margherita joined the CERN Knowledge Transfer Group in 2021 to contribute to the dissemination of CERN technologies and to coordinate activities of the CERN Technology Impact Fund. She is responsible for finding impact applications for CERN technologies, facilitating and managing partnerships with industry, with a particular focus on detector related tech and digital know-how.

She previously worked as Head of Global Innovation Services at University College London (UCL) where she was leading a section advising R&D intensive small-medium enterprises (SMEs), spinouts and startups on how to commercialise new technologies and grow through international collaborations.  She worked in close collaboration with Innovate UK on innovation funding for deep tech companies and lead a number of Global Business Innovation Programmes with a view to facilitate international technology transfer and R&D collaborative agreements.

Prior to this experience Margherita worked for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) where she gained experience in intellectual property, tech transfer policies and innovation private public partnerships.

Margherita holds a MSc in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE) and a PGDip in Intellectual Property Law at University of Oxford.
